NOTICE June 21 2013 I am working on a simpler, smaller solution: esps for each component of FCOM, as well as one merged ESP, and only the meshes by fejeena and others not already included in LoversCreatures 2.0. I will also be upgrading for compatibility with FCOM 1.0, which I didnt realize exist. FCOM SuperPack by Danwood - posted in Oblivion Mod Troubleshooting: Spoiler Mods sorted by your userlist are counted as recognised, not unrecognised, plugins. Super Awesome Pack. What does Fcom do? And I'm not asking technical details. I'm asking what does it do. What's the vision behind each single overhaul? What is the vision fcom has.
Assuming the ordinal number is the only thing in the column, you could use a field in Word coded as:
where 'MyField' is your field name and the 'rd;st;nd' and'th' strings in the field code are all superscripted. With this approach, it doesn't even matter whether the Excel data are in an ordinal format.
Even if the mergefield returns a date, it's possible to use field coding to apply superscript numbering (e.g. 29th October 2014). For the basic field coding to do that, see 'Insert A Date with Ordinal Numbering' (from which the above example is derived) in my Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial, which you can download from: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/showthread.php/154368-Microsoft-Word-Date-Calculation-Tutorial or: http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm#Third_party Do read the document's introductory material.
Note: The field brace pairs (i.e. '{ }') for the above example are created in the document itself, via Ctrl-F9 (Cmd-F9 on a Mac); you can't simply type them or copy & paste them from this message. Nor is it practicable to add them via any of the standard Word dialogues. The spaces represented in the field construction are all required.
In Excel (latest 2016 Professional Plus version 1811 on Windows 10) you can copy the formula in a selected cell (cells) down by double clicking on the dot in the bottom right corner. This also works if the lower cells already have some content. E.g. here the formula would be copied down from C2 into C3 and C4 too, even though those cells are not blank:
Here's the file that works for me: https://www.dropbox.com/s/66htg8br97zghx2/Non-merged.xlsx?dl=0
However the same won't work with formulas in merged cells, if you double click on the dot here nothing happens:
This is the test file I'm using: https://www.dropbox.com/s/333ibxp79r4f40d/Merged.xlsx?dl=0
Is this intentional, or is there some way to get this working? In this example it doesn't really matter of course, but if you have thousands of rows and you need to change the formula you'll need to drag down the box all the way.
It's probably worth noting that if I try to pull down the whole line I get a 'To do this, all merged cells need to be the same size.' Not sure if related.
Note that this is only with cells which are not blank; with blank cells the double click works equally well in both cases.
Probably worth noting that my system uses the Hungarian (hu_HU) locale. Because of this e.g. in Excel the separator between formula arguments is a semicolon, not colon. Shouldn't make a difference though.
Thanks in advance!
